Kingdom of Marionettes is a horror visual novel set in an abandoned puppet theatre. You play a newly hired security guard whose routine night shift turns threatening once the puppets begin to move. Jestyn, the mischievous jester puppet, becomes the centre of the story.

Game overview and choices
Kingdom of Marionettes is a puppet theater horror game told as a visual novel. The in-game images below show Jestyn's jester design, dialogue scenes inside the theater, and a red collar with a bell. The story uses choices rather than action combat. The creator's published Act 1 guide confirms that choices about helping farmers, buying land, Jestyn's criticism, and chocolate affect the regular ending.
For a first playthrough, follow the story without spoilers. If you want a specific result later, use the scene-by-scene Act 1 walkthrough or the point planner. The secret ending uses a separate name clue, so a high score alone will not reveal it.

The Cast Of The Theatre
The theater setting and Jestyn anchor the story. You make the choices that determine the Act 1 regular ending.
Jestyn
The jester puppet at the center of the story. His response to a choice in Act 1 is worth two affection points in the creator's ending guide.
The Puppets
The puppet theater and its cast give the horror visual novel its setting and name.
You
You play the security guard at the theater. Your decisions affect the Act 1 affection total and ending.

Why Kingdom of Marionettes Sticks With You
The theater setting gives this horror visual novel a distinct look. Empty seats, a stage, Jestyn's painted face, and dialogue boxes are visible in the existing game images above. The story choices give those scenes consequences: the creator's Act 1 guide lists exact point values and three ending outcomes.
First-Person Reading
You experience the theatre through dialogue, close-up portraits, and small reactive choices - no action, no jump cuts.
Slow-Burn Tension
No jump-scare treadmill. Pressure builds from how Jestyn answers, what he leaves out, and what the puppets keep repeating back to you.
Dark Fairytale Horror
The game treats the theatre like a small kingdom - with Jestyn on the throne and you in the front row, deciding whether to stay in your seat.
Puppet Imagery
Jestyn's jester design and the theater backdrop make the puppet theme recognizable in the game's own artwork.
Three Act 1 Endings
Act 1 has a good ending, a bad ending, and a secret ending. The ending guide explains the creator's choice points.

Act 1 route facts
The Act 1 story asks you to make decisions whose effects are not always obvious from the wording. Helping the farmers adds two points, but buying the land and eating the chocolate each cost one. Finding Jestyn's criticism funny adds two. The good ending starts at three points; the collar option starts at four. Check every published point value before replaying a route.
The separate secret ending depends on inspecting the king puppet's room door and using a name clue when Jestyn asks your name. Our spoiler-marked Crownus guide explains that trigger. These details are specific to Act 1; the Act 2 guide tracks the newer release by platform.
Audience Note
Kingdom of Marionettes is intended for mature audiences. This is not a general-audience fairytale, even when the scenery looks like one. The game deals in dark fairytale imagery, intimate psychological pressure, puppet horror, and choices that can feel uncomfortable. Players should know that it is built for adults who are comfortable with darker visual novel themes.
The official page lists additional warnings including screen-shaking effects, obsessive behaviour, suggestive content, light BDSM, and player death. Check the creator's current warnings before downloading.
Tips Before You Start
If you are playing for a specific ending, write down your answers to the four scored decisions. The walkthrough gives complete example routes for the good ending, bad ending, and collar option. If your total looks right but the result differs, check whether you entered the secret name or whether you are playing a different build.
