Act 1 secret route · Major spoilers · Updated 10 October 2026
How to get the secret ending in Kingdom of Marionettes
The hidden Act 1 route follows a clue on the King puppet's room door and a specific reply when Jestyn asks your name. Affection points decide the regular good or bad ending; this name entry is a separate trigger.
Spoiler warning and version scope
The next section reveals the exact name and sequence. The creator documented it for Act 1 in February 2026. This guide does not claim the same trigger unlocks any Act 2 outcome.
The creator-confirmed steps
- Look at the puppet rooms. Find the King puppet's room and read what is written on its door. This is the in-story clue the creator points to.
- Wait for Jestyn's name question. The trigger belongs at the moment he asks for your name, not at an ordinary dialogue choice later in the story.
- Enter
crownusas the name. Use the name as one word. The creator's ending guide says this locks the run into the secret ending. - Continue the Act 1 run. Do not try to raise affection to force this outcome; the published secret condition is the name entry.
The creator presents the door as the clue but does not say whether examining it sets a required internal flag. Looking at it first is the clearest way to follow the published instructions; we have not independently verified a name-only shortcut.

Secret route versus good and bad endings
| Outcome | Confirmed Act 1 condition | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Good ending | At least 3 affection points | Four scored decisions in the walkthrough. |
| Bad ending | 2 points or fewer | Retally land, criticism, farmers, and chocolate. |
| Secret ending | Use the King-room clue and enter crownus when asked for your name | The name prompt, not the affection total. |
The 4-point collar option is a scene condition on the regular route; the creator does not list it as a separate fourth ending.
If the secret ending did not trigger
- Check the spelling. The published name is
crownus, one word. A spaced phrase such as “crown us” is not what the creator wrote. - Check the moment you entered it. The instruction is to use that name when Jestyn asks yours. Entering it as an answer to some other question is not the documented trigger.
- Do not substitute a different puppet name. The creator says other names can produce different reactions; that is not a promise of the same secret ending.
- Check your version. These instructions were published for Act 1. The browser player on this site is a separate build, and its content may differ from the latest desktop release.
The creator's post does not describe every scene of the secret ending. A surprising or negative-looking scene alone is not enough to diagnose whether your run matched the documented trigger.
Quick questions
Do I need 3 or 4 affection points first?
No point threshold is given for the secret name route. Those thresholds apply to the regular good ending and collar scene.
Is Crownus an ending or a name?
crownus is the name the creator instructs players to enter. “Secret ending” is the outcome tied to that entry in the Act 1 guide.
Does this solve Act 2's endings?
No. The creator's published instructions predate Act 2, and no matching Act 2 ending map was confirmed in the sources used here.
